The Vintage Effect

Vintage Effect

i've been playing around with my photos alot. ever since i discovered my love for that vintage/lomo/medium-format photo effect, i've been going crazy experimenting with them on photoshop. i dug out all my photos, old or new and tried them one by one and its really fun seeing the transformation.

Untitled-1

my favorite pic of the lot, a signboard taken at 275, canada road during a morning walk with my hubby at the neighborhood. this area has got many colonial bungalows and i can't help but wonder if they're gonna convert it into another dempsey/rochester park one day? on the right, my favorite part of the bookshelf where it holds my food mags.

Lychee Rose Cupcakes

Vintage Effect

laduree macarons, all the way from paris. blogged here.

after some trial & error, i realized that not every pic will look good with this effect, especially the food ones. its very rare that food will look good post-processed in a vintage manner with the exception of some so it really takes some experimenting. when it comes to food, you really want them to retain their vibrant hues and colors so they look appetizing.

if you're interested, here are two tutorials to get you started but make sure you've got some basic photoshop skills, at least :
